IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test that measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work in environments where English is used as a language of communication. An alternative to IELTS is the OET which is an english language test for healthcare professionals. Both the IELTS and the OET exams are accepted by the GMC and NMC, the difference being that the OET tests the ability to communicate in English in a healthcare setting , whereas IELTS tests ability to communicate in general English.
