NEW NMC REGISTRATION PROCESS
NMC is set to launch a new, streamlined overseas registration process for nurses and midwives at the beginning of October 2019.
New online Application Form
NMC is changing its online application into “NMC Online” to make it more convenient for the applicant. According to the new process, candidates will get their NMC Online account where they'll be able to track the update and progress of their application throughout. The candidates can now complete their application form and upload the supporting documents online instead of downloading and posting the forms to the NMC.
It has also further made it possible for the NMC to ask the referee directly for supporting declarations, thus by cutting down on time taken having to go back and forth.
What NMC has changed so far?
New OSCE resit policy- Now the candidate only has to reappear for the part of OSCE that they failed.
Updated OSCE preparation materials- The NMC have aligned OSCE preparation materials across the three test sites, produced 'top tips' for candidates and introduced a mock examination and marking criteria to support candidates preparing for the OSCE examination
Reduced cost: The overall cost of the CBT has reduced from £130 to £90. The cost of the OSCE is reduced from £992 to £794, and resit cost reduced from £496 to £397.
Updated English Language Requirements: NMC now accepts overall 7 scores on IELTS with minimum 6.5 in writing and 7 score in reading, listening and speaking
Updated Registration requirements: The NMC removed the 12 months post registration experience requirement
